Something Blue

I am probably one of a billion brides, who loves Tiffany's! On any occasion, getting that blue box with the white ribbon, is always a celebration. So, when I saw these pictures, I just couldn't resist sharing them. While Tiffany Blue is not a part of my color scheme for my wedding, it will make an appearance somewhere during our wedding weekend.

Give It Up For the Groom

The groom's cake has always been known as a southern tradition, and this southern gal and guy will definitely partake in this tradition. The groom's cake is a great way to express the personality and interest of the groom. So, to give you an idea of who my fabulous fiance really is, I have posted some very unique groom's cakes. GA is always on my mind, so you can guess which cake is my favorite. You can be assured, however, that one of these cake ideas, will make an appearance at our wedding, along with a few personal touches!!

The Time of Your Life

I think one thing every bride says about her wedding is that she wants it to be F-U-N!!! Your wedding is the happiest day of your life and you want to have a blast, along with your family and friends. Today was one of those days when thinking about all things "life", I thought to myself, how I want my wedding to be the best time of my life. I thought about how great it would be to just be at a fun celebration of life and love. In thinking about my wedding day, the lyrics to "The Time of My Life" by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes popped into my head! The lyrics reminded me that everyday with the one whom you love should be the time of your life!

I've had the time of my life
No I never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
'Til I found the truth
And I owe it all to you

Rain, Rain, Go Away

So, my mom called last night and had a bit of information for our Athens, GA weekend, that we are so excited about. Her warning was: Rain expected on Friday and thunderstorms on Saturday. Oh no! So, I am asking all of you out there to pray the rain away for our friends that will be getting married this weekend. They have planned a beautiful ceremony on the University of Georgia campus, and we want there to be nothing but gorgeous Georgia sunshine. So if you would, for the bride and groom.....Rain, rain go away. Come again another day. They have their vows they need to say. Come again some other day!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

This weekend, my fabulous fiance and I will hit the highways of 85 and head back to Athens, GA. As mentioned before, we met in college at The University of Georgia, and this is the first time that we have been back to visit together since we left in 2004. Talking about it today, literally brought tears to my eyes. The thought of going back to the place where we first met, the place where we found each other and fell in love, brings about emotions in me, that I cannot even begin to express. If anyone could guess, we are going back to Athens for what else......a wedding!! And along with the wedding festivities of the weekend, we plan on visiting some of our special places at the University and in Athens. The University brought about a lot of firsts for us, and this weekend we will embark on Athens, GA as an engaged couple, for the first time. This weekend will be the first time that I introduce Athens, GA and The University of Georgia, to who else but, my fabulous fiance!!!

Spring...A time of growth and renewal

Today, March 20, 2009 is the first official day of spring this year! I am so excited. Goodbye winter, hello spring! Spring is defined as the season of the year, occurring between winter and summer, during which the weather becomes warmer and plants revive.....all things revive. We can only hope that with the first day of spring comes fantastic weather and gorgeous flowers for all of the brides to be! With spring and great weather, comes beautiful bouquets! Thanks Spring!

Til Death Do Us Part

Today I picked up my engagement ring for the second time!! It is one thing to be without your bling the first time, but two is just unimaginable. And also, annoying, if I may add, because everyone assumes that the engagement is over! I can't even remember the number of times, over the past two weeks, that I have said "The ring is being sized"!! I was so proud to walk out of the store today with my ring and know that we would never have to part again. The first thing I did was......called my fabulous fiance! Of course! Picking up my ring took me back to the day that he asked me to be his wife, with so much love and pride. From that moment, I knew, with no doubt in my heart, that he and I would be together til death do us part!!

I've Got Sunshine

Finally, after about 5 days of rain.......I've Got Sunshine!! The gorgeous day that we had here in North Carolina today, made me think of inspirations for a yellow wedding!! Regardless of the day that you are having, yellow just makes you smile! Yesterday, we went green, and today, it's all about the "sunshine" brides!

Let's Go Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! In the spirit of today, I figured that it would be a great day to go green! Going green and having an eco-friendly wedding, is all about using "mindful indulgence" in choosing items for your wedding. There is always a place in every wedding to go green, rather it's those infamous DIY projects, using recycled paper for invitations and menu cards, or donating to your favorite charity as your wedding favor. So, with the Irish, let's celebrate, together, going green!

Gorgeous Seated Dinner
Seated Dinners allow brides to use less plates & utensils. And less food is usually prepared. For the weddings that have extra food, it is always a great idea to donate your food to a shelter.

Symbol of Eternity

The wedding ring is the most recognizable and famous symbol, representing the joining of man and woman as husband and wife. The oldest recorded exchange of wedding rings comes from ancient Egypt, about 4800 years ago. The full circle of a wedding ring, symbolizes the eternal love and completeness that a husband and wife share. Nothing is sweeter than seeing a couple's wedding rings in a beautiful photo, representing, today, tomorrow, and forever.......... a symbol of eternity!!

A Girl & Her Shoes

There is nothing like seeing a bride and her fancy shoes on her wedding day. The dress is the main entree, but the shoes, for me, are the dessert. I love to see brides in their fancy, classy, and gorgeous gowns. But I love the shock value when a bride flashes a peep of her shoes, and catches all of her guests off guard!!

Georgia On My Mind

My fabulous fiance and I currently live in Charlotte, NC, but are both originally from Georgia. I am from a small town in north Georgia called Rome, and my fiance is from a small town in south Georgia, called Darien. From the moment that we started dating, I always said that I couldn't have found a guy in Georgia who lived further from me. So, in considering where to have the wedding, we knew there was only one place to have it.................and that is Georgia!! And I found my dream venue right off!! We will be joining as husband and wife, June 12, 2010 at The Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, GA!

Dancing Like A Star

Last night, as many of you know, was the first night of Dancing With The Stars, Season 8. And honestly, I couldn't help but cheer for Melissa, who recently had her heart broken on The Bachelor. I am definitely a fan of the show, mainly because it makes me contemplate the style of dance that my soon to be husband and I will perform on our special day. Hopefully our first dance will feature us dancing like stars.
